IRONWOOD MENS GOLF ASSOCIATION (I.M.G.A.)

Welcome: the Ironwood Men's Golf Association is happy to welcome you as a new member.
To help you feel at home and comfortable with our routine, we offer the following orientation.

MEN’S PLAY DAY: Tuesday every week. There is a morning and afternoon start. You may choose whichever fits your schedule best that week. The start times will vary with the seasons..

SIGN‐UP:  You will get an email each week with a link that allows you to sign up for IMGA for the subsequent week.  You have until Sunday noon to sign up

CANCELLATIONS: How you cancel golf, depends on when you cancel golf. Until Sunday at noon prior to the play date, use the event confirmation email you received and click on 'Not Playing' or call the Ironwood Pro Shop.   If you must cancel after noon on Sunday, call the Pro Shop (895‐0617, ext 7).   Failure to cancel for an event (a no show) will result in suspension from IMGA play for the next event.

ADD‐ONS: the only method to signup for a Tuesday event is to click on the "Playing" link within either the AM or PM emails you will receive on Tuesdays. You must do so before noon on Sunday.   After noon on Sunday the event is closed with no additions.

PAIRINGS: Pairings will be posted on the IMGA website (www.iwmensgolf.com),  on the Pairings and Results page, sometime on Sunday afternoon.  They will also be posted on the bulletin board outside the Ironwood Pro Shop.

PLAY DAY: Arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your scheduled tee time to check in at the pro shop, arrange your riding order and, if necessary, pay your green fees. This is also a good time to check the bulletin board for any notices of special tournaments/events.

WINNERS: Winnings will be in the form of Chits posted to your credit book. The pro shop staff will keep track of your winnings which you may spend at any time at either the Ironwood or Oakwood Pro Shop or at any of the Iron Oaks restaurants.   The majority of league games are flighted so you will be competing for prizes against players of your same golfing ability. Prize lists will be posted on the bulletin board and on the IMGA website.

Live Scoring:  IMGA uses the Premium Golf Genius software to keep track of scores (called Live Scoring) DURING play each week. It is a requirement to use Live Scoring.  One person in each foursome is responsible for entering in Golf Genius after each hole. RECORDING FINAL SCORES: After play ends on league day the Handicap Chairman confirms scores in Golf Genius based on the Live Scoring entered by each team.  YOU are responsible for recording all other scores whenever you play, whether at Ironwood or “Away”. This will ensure that your handicap is accurate for your level of play.

WHAT YOUR IMGA MEMBERSHIP DUES INCLUDE: Your dues include payment for weekly prize money, hole‐in‐one insurance, entry into the major tournaments, and fees for AGA. IMGA is  an officially recognized league of the Arizona Golf Association, the state organization responsible for assuring that you have a recognized handicap. 

SPECIAL EVENTS: IMGA has 2 major tournaments each year ‐ the Ironwood Cup (a three‐week cumulative Net score tournament), and the Club Championship (a three‐week cumulative Gross score tournament). In addition, there is an annual Member/Guest, Member/Member and Home & Home events with the other Sun Lakes men’s leagues, some at a small additional cost. Sign up sheets for these events will be posted on the website and in the computer room.
